Treatment Philosophy

Dr. Fisher Smith adopts a humanistic and existential approach to treatment, one that values empathy as a core feature of the therapeutic alliance. She helps patients find relief from debilitating symptoms while also collaboratively working with the patient to create and find purpose and meaning in their lives. She also employs evidence-based approaches including interpersonal and dialectical behavior therapies.

Guiding Principles
