What is Medication-Assisted Treated (MAT)?

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) gives you another avenue for overcoming your addiction to alcohol or drugs through the use of doctor-prescribed medications, such as suboxone or vivitrol injections. MAT works in conjunction with other forms of therapy such as counseling, group therapy, and behavioral therapy.

We utilize MAT to help patients recover from addiction to opioids, such as heroin and prescription pain relievers. We can also use it for other types of addictions depending on your specific condition. Keep in mind that medication is not a primary treatment at Invicta Healthcare, however, when used with other types of treatments, it can be effective in helping you overcome your dependency.

Co-Occurring Substance Use Disorder

If you are suffering from both a mental health disorder and substance use disorder, we can provide treatment for both conditions through our co-occurring substance abuse treatment program. We can help you understand the relationship between your addiction and your mental health condition and how each affects the other.

For instance, you may have noticed that your illness has contributed to your addiction through an attempt to self-medicate. Likewise, your addiction may be aggravating certain symptoms of your mental health condition. In either case, a co-occurring substance abuse treatment allows us to provide therapy for both your addiction and your illness separately while helping you recover from both.
